Bristol, bridges and big bangs

Due to the spilt milk issues yesterday afternoon, Dave decided to take us via the Clifton Suspension Bridge in an attempt to bypass all of the traffic jams. This did not meet with great favour with me as I am terrified of heights and consider myself very fortunate to have lived here for so long and only been driven over the bridge once.

I think I dealt with it quite well by shrinking down in my seat and frantically composing a text to Twitter. I wonder if this strategy will work with all the flights we will be taking later this year?

To add insult to injury, I had to pay for the pleasure as Dave didn’t have any change on him.

The bridge can look beautiful though. They had an amazing firework display on the 8th April 2006 to celebrate Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s 200th birthday. This also happened to be Dave’s birthday so it made a lovely end to his day.

Dave and Felix are at another huge firework display tonight, which is part of the Bristol Harbour festival. I wish that I could have gone with them but Oscar is too little for fireworks and being out so late and I have to work anyway. They are having a great time by all accounts.
